I'm also keeping my eye on the Mobilize Duo, as soon as that's available in the Netherlands, I want to drive one of those as well.

Context: I’ve been driving for 30 years, of which the last 12 years Toyota gen 2/3 Priuses. Last 3 months in a Twizy. Not really a car lover, but I seem to have fallen in love with the L7e vehicle category.
I took my son for a drive around Culemborg in the Netherlands in an XEV YoYo. It was the top spec model, with heating and airconditioning. I will compare it mainly with my Twizy (because that is what I have) and here and there with the Microlino (which I test drove last summer). Some of my findings (almost all subjective, I didn’t measure anything):
• Driver seating position: moderately comfortable. I’m 1m88, but most of my length is in my upper body. Still, my left leg had no room to stretch. There is foot rest, but it’s close to the seat so my knee was bent the entire time. The distance between the seat and the accelerator pedal was okay, but barely so. Distance between the seat and the steering wheel is also barely comfortable. It would have been more comfortable if the seat could have been moved back, say, 10 or 15 cm. Headroom is perfectly fine, even with my tall upper body. Elbow room is unremarkable, not cramped, not roomy, simply okay. Twizy has more elbow room. Seats are good, much better than the Twizy, somewhat better than the bench in the Microlino. All this of course in the context that this not a car in which you’d typically spend driving hours at a time. For short drives, the comfort level is perfectly acceptable.
• Road handling: Definitely “more car-like” than the Twizy. Holes and bumps in the road are much less of a world-shaking event than in the Twizy. It’s probably slightly more comfortable than, but comparable to, the Microlino. The YoYo has a 10 cm longer wheelbase, I think that makes some positive difference. Steering at low speeds requires many turns of the steering wheel.
• Motor/road noise: Much quieter than in the Twizy, probably a little better than in the Microlino.
• Boot space: Because the Twizy essentially doesn’t have any, much better. Maybe comparable to the Microlino. Ample room for weekly groceries etc.
• Acceleration: Feels slower to pick up than the Twizy, but my mind may have been fooled by the lower motor and road noise levels. I had no problem keeping up with city / secondary road traffic.
• Interior: Everything plastic of course, but the large display is nice. I connected my phone via Bluetooth and could play music. I couldn’t get the display to show anything else besides driving information, but I didn’t take the time to thoroughly explore its workings. Electric windows are a luxury – but also something that has weight and that can break. I could have done without those.
• Heating / airconditioning: The heating just has an on/off switch, no levels of heating can be set. When I tested it, it did blow warm air. I don’t know if it’s a PTC heater or the airconditioning running in reverse. I also couldn’t test how effective it was as a demister. The airconditioning is an absolute luxury in a car this size. When I tested it, it blew cool air. Should help with demisting. The heating/airconditioning controls are real, physical, buttons, which I much prefer over touch screen buttons.
• Wind shield wiper: just like in the Twizy, the single wind shield wiper doesn’t clean a large part of the wind shield, but as you’re sitting on the left side in the YoYo, it does provide more vision for the driver. The passenger is watching mainly rain drops.
• Charge port: The YoYo has a “real” charge port. This has of course advantages and disadvantages, mostly depending on where you charge most (at home from a wall socket, or on public chargers). I saw cables for both situations in the boot, I don’t know if both come standard.
• Quality: Generally, the quality of everything I saw and touched felt fine for what the vehicle is. How long it’ll all last… no idea of course.
Overall, I feel the YoYo drives not much worse than small cars like early generation Aygo’s etc. If such a vehicle fits your use case, and you can justify the purchase price, I don’t see why you wouldn’t pick something like this. Much more comfortable than a Twizy, much cheaper to run than a real car. More unique-looking than the Twizy, less unique-looking than the Microlino. A nice practical in-between vehicle for commuting, errands, etc.
I’m going to ask the dealer if I could borrow/rent one for a week or so when they have a Sauregurkenzeit, maybe in a school vacation or so. Maybe I'll make a video about that experience.
Next stop: a test drive in a Mobilize Duo, when it becomes available in the Netherlands.

I still have weird problems adding images to any post. See a couple of photos under this post.
