My first post as a new user, to introduce myself before I start posting questions that was already answered without searching the forums first
I'm a "google-translate" (german to english.) user from the west coast of Sweden, situated on an Island outside the town of Gothenburg.
I have lately been investigating the Twizy as a possible tool for my commute back and forth to my workplace in Gothenburg a couple of days each week.
Also it seems to be great fun, and really tickles my inner nerd with all the possibilities OVMS has to offer.
I have found an object that I'm interested in, and I will try to use the Forums to find out if this is a good object to purchase, or not.
Model year: 2013
Manufactured: 2013-05
Milage: 8,400 km
Battery: owned.
SOH: 66% (Reported by the Renault dealer, after I requested them to do a read out.)
Asking price: 4950 EUR
That SOH of 66% scares me a bit as I do not know how this would work with my planned commute of totally 42km (2x21km), and also possibly the lifetime of the vehicle
The dealer stated that those 66% SOH actually was a really good value for a 2013 model.
I don't really know about that , because I think the milage of 8400km shouldn't cause that much strain on the batteries.. could it the be age degradation?
Any tips or advices would be greatly appreciated while I trawl the forum threads for answers.
Kind regards
Kristoffer

Nice to know someone from the Skagerrak…
66% Soh is not very good inmy opinion, I have got one 2012 and one 2013 with 35.000 kilometers each and the soh is far beyond 90%.
The mileage is pretty low, when the brakes are good it sounds nice, but the soh would myself keep of this one….

Welcome to the show!

Thomas

Thanks for your quick response!
Yes, it seems a bit strange I must agree, but on the other hand, I don't know much about the vehicle and how the battery ages over time, even without actual driving usage.
So that's why it's good to get replies like yours.
I get a feeling that the dealer are not that confident when it comes to EV's and possibly lack a bit of knowledge regarding the terms SOH and SOC.
Unfortunately there is no print out, I just asked them to have the workshop verify the SOH, and the reply I got back was 66%
I do not have the possibility of doing an actual range test, since the Twizy is located 100km's away from my location.
But I think I'll give the dealer a call again tomorrow and ask for some more details regarding the SOH and how they actually aquired the data.
Again, thanks for your input!

Hi there Udo
It's close to Skagerak, but probably more Kattegat to be honest
I agree, 66% does not feel right for 8,400 km, the investigation is to be continued.
Have a nice evening!

Wenn der SOH wirklich schon so niedrig ist, ist der Fahrakku, zumindest teilweise defekt.
Man liest auch hier im Forum sehr selten von so einem niedrigen SOH.

Thank you Thomas!
Regarding SOH, I now understand from your replies, that this could actually be a misunderstanding by the dealer.
I have actually already done a test drive with the unit, but unfortunately, my focus was not 100% that day, My girlfriend was already nagging me about this "Small ugly UFO" that I was looking at..
But it wasn't possible to do a longer test drive due to the weather conditions and the situation in general.
Regarding brakes and track (wheel alignment if I understand correctly?)
I have requested the dealer to take the Twizy to the "Swedish Motor-Vehicle Inspection " to perform a safety inspection test before any deal is to be done. The swedish version of TÜV or MOT-Testing.
So I hope that such details will be found in that inspection, if any.

Now I have recieved the new data, and these seems to be good news indeed.
The attached report is in Swedish, but it specifies:
PR160 Traction battery charge 100%
PR085 Traction battery condition 100%
PR155 Vehicle battery voltage: 58V
PR148 Grid voltage control unit 14.19 V
PR145 Current measured by BMS 0.00 A
So I have decided to go through with the deal.
To be continued...

What I'm wondering now .., how did they come up with the number 66 ..., what did they mix it up with?

The sales rep at the dealership didn't know what the workshop got that figure from initially, he thought it could have been SOC....
And thanks for the welcome!

A short trip from my Island via the ferry over to the main land, with heading the city of Borås, totally 92x2km.
Used a Brenderup trailer with integrated ramp, it fit the twizy like a glove..
The trip went perfect.
So now I'm trying to get familiar with the new family member.
I'm actually pretty suprised how fun it's to drive, even though it's fully stock as of now..
Overall it seems to be in a condition I'm happy with.
The dealer did a light recond befor delivery, so it was very nice and shiny.
Maybe a bit "too" shiny inside.. because they used some "plastic restorer" and everything is slippery as an eel.. possibly some type of silicone treatment or similar, I'll have to see if I can wipe it of somehow, because now I'm afraid I'll break something when I enter the vehicle : facepalm:
The current summary of vehicle data is:
Model year: 2013
Manufactured: 2013-05
First time in traffic: 2014-09-18
Milage: 8,440 km
Battery: owned.
SOH: 100%
I have an OVMS unit on it's way in the mail, It will be very interesting to start tinkering!
