2020 Twizy 80 with Korea windows. I have a Twiz'O'meter which is connected to my Home Assistant. I have a type 2 adapter and a CEE adapter so I can charge everywhere. I can read and understand German pretty well, but I can't write it So please feel free to reply in German to my English posts.
Kurze Frage / kurze Antwort / kurze Information.
I took off the black covers on both sides of the unit. On one end is a spring, which I only barely managed to prevent from escaping:
I kept it in, and it seems to work fine.
The other cover covered this mechanism:
It's the first time I've seen a seat belt mechanism opened up, I don't fully understand how it works. This is a detailed view of the "caged ball bearing". It doesn't seem damaged or anything:
But now the weird part: with this subassembly removed, the seat belt unit seems to work perfectly. When I pull out the belt slowly, it comes out. When I yank it out, it blocks. This all of course with the roll-up unit oriented correctly.
I cannot explain this, but I am hesitant to reinstall it without the ball bearing mechanism.
Can anyone explain what I've found?

This is the core unit that detects whether a strong acceleration is acting on the unit.
If you brake hard, for example, the ball moves out of the center position and blocks the belt.

Ah! I see, that is a smart mechanism. But now it seems to activate the blocking mechanism all the time. I will study it some more.

I fixed it! With a file, I took off a fraction of a millimeter of the pointy end of the dark blue lever. When reinstalled, everything the complete unit should do, it does. When in the correct position, I can slowly pull out the belt, but when I yank it, it blocks. When I tilt the unit (and the ball bearing slightly moves), the belt locks at all speeds.
I've reinstalled it, let's see how it holds up.
Thanks for the help and support everybody. Now I can drive to work safely tomorrow morning!
